It occurred to me that between S2 Christmas when they got together and S4 Christmas when he left her Donna and David haven't had one single break up. Can you imagine main couples like Brenda/Dylan, Kelly/Dylan or Kelly/Brandon going for two full years without a break up? No freakin' way.
I do not think they were envisioned as the couple who was supposed the last the longest and have the most stable relationship. I they were relatively drama-free precisely because they were not considered the royal couple in high school, or at the beginning of the college. And then the fact they were left alone in that snese became their strength. __________________

I've been wondering whether David planned on leaving Donna for Ariel. He did seem quite relieved after she found out about them, when he could PDA with Ariel at the fair. I am wondering whether, before Donna had found out, he considered it a temporary thing, just until Ariel's in town, or always planned on leaving Donna and just waited for the right moment. What do you guys think?
