Welcome Back! I thought they got together at the right time in S4. I think since Shannen was leaving, Darren Star finally decided to get the emergency backup couple together.

Yeah. They had to strengthen Kelly's position as a new female lead, and they could not do it without giving her stronger relation with the male lead.

Rachel, I agree that BK were put together as a emergency couple since Shannen was leaving which tells me that I think BK wouldn't be formed just yet if Shannen stayed - that's why I was thinking about BK for S6 onwards.
Esma, with Jennie becoming the new female lead - they had no choice but to pair her with the male lead. I think DK would have carried on in S5 and maybe Brandon and Kelly were going to start something serious around S5. I would have liked Emily back for S5 for a whole season with Brandon before things start happening with Kelly __________________

I was ok with them being in S5. I saw some of the best scenes of a couple from them.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved them in S5 but I was looking for something with them that is concrete and no interference from anyone.
I did feel bad for Kelly as well what Brandon was up to - what a bad boy __________________

I thought Emma was a tasty chick but yes I didn't like her either. We knew Brandon wouldn't do that to Kelly under any circumstances and I'm pretty sure this story was only done due to JP wanting out. Seriously, they made Brandon look really bad but I didn't buy this cheating story at all as it never made any sense. Ironically, this story made me love BK more because I knew the writers wrongfully sabotaged a wonderful couple
