Was it ever acknowledged how he was able to afford a house in Malibu with a teacher's salary? Was it his wife's job?

I don't think it was ever acknowledged...maybe it's a huge bank loan.

I guess it was never addressed, just like so many financial issues on this show, because we were supposed to disregard them, i guess. Like, how could Walshes afford the house in Beverly Hills if they were not rich? I mean, it's a HOUSE IN BEVERLY HILLS. Then, how could Kelly, Donna and David pay so little for the beach appartment? How was Jackie supposed to move out with children and sell the house when Bill was supposed to still pay alimentation for Kelly and Mel to pay for Erin and David? And yes, these *******s would actually pay so their children would live where they want.

I agree. But to me, the Walsh House is understandable. I always just assume Jim and Cindy are part of the upper middle class. Otherwise, Cindy would need to work. But she had time to even take some classes at CU. When they moved to Hong Kong, Jim probably got even more money, which probably helped to pay for Brandon's living expenses at home.

I think Jim was on a wage where he could afford the house yet they were modest and practical compared to the rest of Beverly Hills residence.
Well, the house isn't in Beverly Hills really, it's in Altadena which is north of LA

I wonder how much was the sale price of the house before it fell out of escrow in S6.

It would be worth a lot. If you know Altadena well, it is quite expensive
Esma, yes I'm aware it supposed to be in Beverly Hills but it looks nothing like it tbh

I haven't been LA for a while as I'm still working in London but yes Altadena is close the Pasadena north of LA. The real Beverly Hills is on the west side of it

This connection was probably pointed before, but I just found out Michele Abrams (Amanda Peyser) was in Buffy with Luke and Hilary. And an ep of The New Adventures of Superman with Dean Cain.

It took me forever to realize that this was the dude who played Evan instead of just assuming he was Tori's date:
