Those dances were hot, but I can definitely see why they cut it. Beyond them being sexy, that whole section doesn't offer the audience much more insight into the whole plot at all. And the movie was already pretty long.

Aside from the dance scene, has anyone else seen the extended scene between Baby doll and High Roller?

I actually don't see why they cut those dance scenes they're not that risque or suggestive to be rated R imo.

I don't think it was a matter of it being too suggestive or anything. I think it just took up screen time that needed to be cut down.

The girls all seemed more annoyed that Baby Doll's scene with the High Roller was cut, and imo, that was more important.
