K...I erased all my 4.0 dl episodes, but what's going to be helpful, is picking up the DVD set (offical ones) the previous week, it's out 10 days earlier actually than S 4.5 starts, so that give me time to watch them before new episodes start up on TV.

Sam has kind of exiled himself (from others) I think. He has become entirely dependent on Kara.

He still has Kara, and I'm sure he's secretly wishing she's a cylon too so he's not alone.
