Battlestar Galactica - BSG Phenomenon/Review show...Are you ready for S4 yet?

OK, what did everyone think of the show?

I liked it a lot personally, just wish they had given Ron Moore and David Eick an hour instead of 30 min, well about 22 with the commericals actually. I felt they described/summarized it as best as possible in the time allowed.

I liked the key words they used to summarize some of the main characters.

Bill Adama - Father figure, and final decision maker
Laura Rosylin - Wisdom and caretaker
Lee Adama - Idealist and dreamer
Gaius Baltar - Brilliant scientist with a giant ego
Kara Thrace - Best pilot in the fleet and a knack for self destructing
Saul Tigh - Adama's best friend, biggest anti-cylon person in the fleet (which is the main reason they said they wanted to make him a cylon. His hate for the cylons, the fact that he killed his wife for collaborating with the cylons....and now he's a cylon. Only on BSG!)

The Cylons:

Cavils - Keeping everyone in check, protector of the the final 5
D'Anna - Trying to see the face of God, and to dominate the rest of the models
Leobens - Religious and Spiritual
Dorals - Administrative and Aristocratic
Simons - Curious and Medically Oriented
Six - Sexually expressive and master manipulators
Eights - Naive, Trusting and Sensitive

I didn't know that Joss W. was such a huge fan, to be a famous TV producer/creator himself he gave the best comments

I was most jealous of Ian Scott from Antrax...when they showed the pics of him on the set of BSG, he got invited and got to fraking sit in the cockpit of the viper, meet the cast, etc! Lucky

I haven't had the chance to watch them yet as I was out last night, but I'm going to tonight.

So, I watched both. I started with the Phenomenon episode, and I just about loved every word that came out of Joel McHale's mouth. I seriously love that man. And Joss Whedon's interview was great at well. You really couldn't disagree with anything that anyone said.

The Reflection show didn't really do much if you've watched everything thus far, but it's good if you need to catch up (new watcher) or just need a refresher. There's a lot from the mini-series in there which I loved. Did you noticed how YOUNG everyone looked? Especially Aaron Douglass? Wow. But then again, he's also gained a few pounds since then.

It's amazing the chemistry the cast had from the beginning. Even before I realized how awesome Lee/Kara would be, there was this instant connection between the two. I don't know if it was just the actors or what, but there was definitely amazing chemistry from the start. And the little insight on Bill and Roslin was good. The little hints that there might be something more for them to come is definitely something to look forward too.

Well, some of the subtle hints I got:

Laura will not survive, but she may get closer to Bill

Kara and Lee will be together, for some part of S4, but will not end up together at the end of the show, as they say Starbuck is a self destructive person and Lee is an idealist.

There is definite division among the cylons.

The whole cast did look so young in the mini-series

Yeah, Ron did say that Laura's cancer will not go away this time. BUT, that doesn't mean that she'll die. But either way, there's totally going to be a shift in her and Bill's relationship.

While Kara IS self-destructive, we don't know how this whole "life-after-death" thing has changed her. She said she's not scared anymore before she blew up, but how much does that cover? My little Kara/Lee shipper heart hopes they just end up together in the end.

I'm afraid you may have to prepape yourself for some heartbreak by the end of S4. When Ron and David say that Kara and Lee will probably not end up together, that's probably true. I always say their love is like Neo/Trinity from the Matrix...and "such love is not meant to last", but darn, while it's on...it's something special. I see Kara/Lee in that category.

They did say Laura will filfill her prophecy as the "dying leader" part, I took at at face value

Really liked the 2 shows, but only wish they were on for longer.

Did like the little clues Ron and David gave us, and my Adama/Roslin shipper heart was quite happy with what they said

That is one relationship that has a positive outlook right now

I do feel they should have made it a 90 min show but they didn't. Maybe on the DVD set S4

That would be great.

I really think Lee will stick with her until the end, no matter what...it just probably wont be romantically. And with Anders still around..he has to cope with the fact that he's a cylon, and now Kara's back...that should make things interesting.

Is it possible to ship Kara with two different people? I can't help it.
