I guess we'll never know the real reason, especially as Mischa herself said two different things about it.

I think it was a mixture of a few things. Although Rachel doesn't seem to have a lot to do with Mischa these days, and they were supposedly very good friends. So maybe the cast weren't as close as they made themselves out to be in public.

I guess it's possible but Rachel said in an interview around the time Mischa left that it was a creative decision and that they were all blindsided by it so I don't know...

I think Mischa did want out at some point though, but maybe not in the way it happened.
