I think I'm just being emo. I was rereading the old threads. I went all the way back to twenty. And I'm missing some of the people who just aren't around anymore. I know it happens. People come and go. But I still miss the little girls and guys (if there was any.) Like my Emo!Twin has been missing for a long time now. And Beckles is still missing and I worry. Just ignore me. I think it's a woman thing.


Okay I was thinking, why do Nikki and Zac, capture me. I mean no other celebrity has ever taken this much of my time and energy as the two have.

So I decide to think about it and share why I like these two. Not just together. But as actors.

First off is Zac.

To be truthful and blunt I thought nothing of him. Not even a blip on my radar, till he came about in Hairspray. This comes as no shock I am sure. I've said it many times. But I guess it still should be said, to understand why, now, I think of him as something special.

It isn't that just in Hairspray he makes Link come alive. It's not just that catching him in his few guest appearances and other roles have broadened my view of his abilities and talents. They have of course, but I like a lot of actors for the ability they have on screen, and I like very few for the people they are. Or at least the person they choose to show us. I think beyond a role, beyond the Link Wink and Link Lick, is someone worth getting to know.

His interviews and articles since Hairspray have opened up to me a whole new way to look at him. And I don't know if Nikki is that reason, or if it's simply growing up. Whatever it is. It has made him more human, as strange as that is, in my eyes. It has made him more than a simple teen heartthrob, more than a Disney Channel clone, more than a pretty face that I see as more a passing fad than Hollywood reborn. He has been renewed. Refashioned into someone I like. Someone I care about. And the last time I cared about a celebrity was my love of Christopher Reeve, when upon his death I cried so hard I thought I was going to throw up and I ended up taking a day off of work, and yes that's a little weird I'm sure. But the truth is I see in them a hope, of sorts. In Chris it was a childhood spent in fan tasty land because of a crappy father. And in Superman and then Christoper Reeve, I saw hope in the possibilities of imagination, in a world where things really could be simple and true. I associated Christoper Reeve with the thing that saved me from my childhood. Dreams and Hopes. And after his accident he exceed my expectation of what heroes are. And for that I loved him. No matter how weird that sounds. And for Zac, it's in hope too, that guys, that people like that exist, that it isn't weight or skin or money that sway a person but the person themself. It's not, of course the same thing, but it's the possibility of the same type of thing, what I guess I mean is that in Zac I see a better showcase of the representation of what things could be. Of the type of people we could see as influences on the young minds. And that's amazing.


And as for Nikki, how can I not adore her. She is talented and bubbly and mostly she is confident and it's true, most of the time the most non confident people are drawn towards those who posses self-assurance. I want her to do well, not just because of the fact that she is talented but because I am so tired of the role models being people who have not idea what it's really like to be an outcast or made fun of. Tired of cookie cutter waste aways being idealized and giving people the idea that happiness is wrapped in a size zero and arm candy. That life is nothing more than pretty cars and expensive gifts and how life can't be fulfilling unless, you reach perfection. And that's so cruel to show people. So unfair to represent when all of us are so flawed. Nikki represents to me, well me. She is what I wish people saw when I walked into a room. Especially in High School and Jr. High, because then, I was slumped shoulders and blushing cheeks and trying so hard to fit when I just never was. I was never going to be a them and I think I love Nikki more for being that. For being a whole person. Not despite her weight or even because of it, I adore her for the fact that it really is a non-issue for her. It's nothing more than part of who she is. But it is not her definition.


Okay now that I've bored you with my crappy thoughts. I will now go. :D
