I think it's for a very specific type of movie viewer. both of my housemates didn't like it at all, which is sad. It's a part of Indie Arty movies I guess, can be polarising for some.

I totally get that. . It's not my favorite movie and I don't like the feeling it leaves me with, but man..I have to appreciate Zac' s portrayal of Dean. .maybe you really do have to be a fan (I never would have gone looking to watch this movie if not for Zac )or be interested /familiar with the subject matter, cuz it's not exactly Die Hard or XMen..but I've always enjoyed Dennis Quaid too.. that should have generated more interest... it's too bad, that's all.

after seeing Nbrs and AAP I def think Zac has stepped up to being totally convincing as a villain, the deep, intellectual kind that plays mind games, but still can react violently when appropriate.

that fact that he doesn't look like a villain make him actually more frightening in some respects.

absolutely, I think that will serve him well when he finds the right villain roles, that maybe are so multi-dimentional, because he can do both so effectively, charming one second and threatening the next.

I'm not sure I even want to think about his ability to do diabolical roles, though I've no doubt he could nail it... I can't help that I prefer the sweet, romantic, funny Zac roles - even drama would be better than evil Zac.

I think it would be fascinating to see him pulling off a dual character, using his sweet charm to manipulate and then spring a surprise diabolical twist at us that shows his genius and talent and leave everyone in the theater speechless and in awe! And then, he could redeem himself at the end in a heroic, physically death defying feat that saves the day and makes everyone fall in love with him again! The more challenging the role, the better, because I know Zac can do anything he sets his heart and mind to.
