How long are you visiting your friends in Cairns for?

I leave on a Wednesday evening and get back Sunday afternoon. And I talked to the new Acting General Manager about it and he's okay with it. I was worried because I had it approved by a colleague who was Acting GM, like, in between 'real' Acting GM's... they keep sending us different people and in between them he kind of steps up, but he probably wasn't the best person to approve leave

At least you have it approved properly now and it's all good. That's a nice length of break and getting to spend time with your friends. This will be the first time you have seen the new addition too, isn't it?

Dani, did you ever swim/snorkel at the great barrier reef?

A long time ago It was during a trip to the Whitsundays, so further south than Cairns, probably five hours drive south or so. If you looked up Airlie Beach on a map, the Whitsunday Islands are a group of islands just off the coast. I just did some basic snorkeling, so I cannot really claim to have seen the really beautiful stuff, I think you need to do proper diving for that.

Swimming the great barrier reef would be amazing but I like you Tess am scared of the fish, just the thought of them touching me (I'm already shuddering just from the thought)

Tess, the girl who was so damn proud of her fish tank, is scared of fish?!

Yeah, I wasn't the most comfortable with it. I'm not a strong swimmer, I get freaked out swimming where you can't touch the bottom too. So even just like, snorkeling, I wasn't comfortable to duck down and swim below and hold my breath, I only really stayed up on the surface putting my head under a little.
