Well it was 2 years later. Being in the Army is a part of his job, we just got to a part in the first one where he was going to be going home for a bit, so that's why it seemed different.

He had more important things to do. Like save the world.
I think it's because he was used to it now, it wasn't like before where he didn't know what was going on, and he just wanted to get it over with and go home.
It's what he did now, so he knew when he went home and when he didn't and all that.
