The FREIDA PINTO Appreciation Thread  Freida Pinto (born October 18, 1984) is an Indian actress and professional model born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She starred in her debut film Slumdog Millionaire. She is the daughter of Sylvia, a principal of St. John’s High School, and Frederick Pinto, a senior branch manager at the Bank of Baroda. Her parents hail from the coastal city of Mangalore. She is of Mangalorean Catholic descent. Her older sister Sharon Pinto is an associate producer on the NDTV news channel. Pinto graduated from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She modeled for two years before meeting Danny Boyle and being cast in Slumdog Millionaire. At the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival the movie won the Cadillac People's Choice Award. At the 2009 Golden Globe Award the movie won four awards: Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director - Motion Picture (Danny Boyle), Best Screen Play - Motion Picture (Simon Beaufoy), and Best Original Score - Motion Picture (A. R. Rahman). Pinto was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards.   |

Freida is such a gorgeous girl, and she seems really sweet. I LOVED Slumdog Millionaire. Freida and Dev were excellent in it!

 I haven't seen Slumdog yet, only 'cause it hasn't been released here yet, but I plan on getting the DVD. Though, hopefully it'll be in theaters here soon, so I can see it before then. She is so beautiful! Those avies are great. He's such a QT!  |
