Chris Pine, Amanda Seyfried to star in 'Z for Zachariah' | Business Standard

"Star Trek Into Darkness" star Chris Pine is all set to feature in yet another sci fi film "Z for Zachariah" with Amanda Seyfried and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

"Zachariah" is a psychological thriller, set after an apocalyptic event, said the Hollywood Reporter.

The post-apocalyptic feature will be directed by Craig Zobel.

The film is based on the life of a teenage girl (Seyfried) who is the sole survivor until a scientist (Ejiofor) finds her farm, and the two fall in love. Arrival of a young survivor (Pine) complicates the matter.

The script of the film is written by Nissar Modi. It is an adaptation of Robert C O' Brien's classic science fiction novel.

The shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in August.

Z for Zachariah? Wow, I haven't thought about that book in forever. But from what I remember, there are 2 characters throughout the whole story, so why is Chris Pine even needed if that character is going to ruin the original plot?

I hope there's just a slight tweak if there are going to be any changes and not something major.

^ My favourite show / movie that she's been associated with to date was Big Love

The theme song for the first 3 seasons of that show in the opening credits was the beach boys' s 'god only know'

The end of the season 5 finale (the series final) concludes with Bill being shot, and everyone in his house moving on as the closing credits roll in: to this moving cover of that beach boys song by the dixie chicks's natalie maines

There was not a dry eye in the house closing out with this empassioned cover
