I doubt he is dead, if they are going by Peter's personality, he should be trying to find a way to fix what happened to Claire because that is really what Peter would do.
I mean let's not forget Peter shot his own brother for Claire wouldn't go dark in the future.

also there something I noticed about Wes or at least to me he looks like he could be kin to Peter, brown/blackish hair brown eyes I mean come on, and don't get me started on Peter and the blondes.

All these updates about the show is putting me off watching it and instead wait till there's news about Peter or Claire

As TVLine reported, Netflix’s in-the-works Gilmore continuation will consist of four 90-minute mini-movies written by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino (AKA Team Palladino).

And here’s another tidbit: The plan, as I understand it, is for most — if not all — of Rory’s major suitors (i.e. Logan, Jess and Dean) to turn up in the four super-sized installments.
