Well, they used a type of gel that's normally used in milkshakes, Dave. They also used a lot of prosthetics and stuff.

Shawnee Smith and Kevin Dillon are in the 1988 version.

Okay. Kevin Dillon is the younger brother of actor Matt Dillon. Kevin Dillon was in Platoon in a supporting role, and he was also on the HBO series Entourage. Matt Dillon was in 80s movies like The Outsiders, My Bodyguard, Rumble Fish, etc., and he was also in There's Something About Mary with Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz.

Shawnee Smith was in the 80s high school comedy Summer School and she was later in the Saw movies.

You saw The Outsiders, Alison? I liked that movie, but the original release in the 1980s cut out the entire ending. I'm glad the DVD and Blu Ray rerelease put back the ending.

Remember, Cole and Lili weren't dating yet when RAS first wrote the pilot and came up with the storyline.

You're right, Tabitha spent more time with Betty than Veronica, although I don't know why Tabitha would even have many scenes with Veronica, as their storylines barely intersect.

Yeah, you have a point there. I do think that to a certain extent they just throw things against a wall and see what sticks, but I also think RAS had an idea as to where everything was gonna go, just no idea how to get there.

Oh, I think there's a lot of reasons why Cheryl is so messed up.

Awesome! I'm glad your first time watching it was the complete version.

The original release ended the movie after Dally died, and then they went right to Ponyboy reading Johnny's letter to him, and then Ponyboy writing his own short story for his school project. I was like, "where's the rest of the story from the book?" I read the book before I saw the movie. I think the studio wanted Francis Ford Coppola to cut down the running length of the movie, and I'm glad that he was able to put back the ending of the movie in the DVD release.

I know Kevin said that but if the show hadn't been renewed the show was gonna end with Jughead moving in with the Coopers as a Bughead happy ending endgame.

I think it was Lili who first revealed about the alternate ending. Like when they didn't know if the show would get a S2, or not, and if not RAS&co rushed, and filmed an alternate ending that had the Coopers letting Jughead move in with them.

Now, while they did that to give Jughead/Betty/Bughead happy ending, they didn't do that for the other characters, so if the show hadn't been renewed Archie, Veronica, etc. etc. would've been left up in the air.

I know that but there's an interview where he says Bughead was planned from the beginning even though it's not true.

Oh, I could see Beggie happening. Something like Archie gets jelly of Veggie (He's gonna get jelly. He got jelly of Chad/Veronica, and would he even be with Betty if Veronica hadn't broken up with him?)

Anyway, Archie gets jelly, he lets Veronica knows about it, they hook up, they break up with Betty&Reggie, and so for revenge Beggie happens.

Also when you asked me about why Varchie endgame, and I said because RAS loves Varchie. Here's another reason the CW.

Example when it came to the S5 character posters, they paired Archie's with Veronica's, and saved theirs for last.

Also they paired Jughead's with Tabitha's which theirs were the first ones posted, then came Kevin/Fangs posters, Cheryl/Toni posters, etc. etc.

As for Blen? I don't know about that, and with her working at the F.B.I. again that could be a hint/clue that Blen will return.

I didn't say Betty, I said Jughead, and Tabitha mostly interacted with Betty because of Jughead.

Even when Tabitha, and Betty had their team-ups it felt like the show was just using it as filler before they had Jughead returned to wrapped up the mystery.

Also after it's over I imagine more of the Betty vs the TBK story, and maybe Jabitha vs Mr. Tate story with Mr. Tate as the new big bad villain which would match S2 main villains.

S2 villains were the Black Hood, and Hiram so S6 main villains can be the TBK, and Mr. Tate as the new Black Hood, and new Hiram.

In the complete DVD version they have the trial that takes place after Johnny and Dally's deaths, where Sherrie and Randy testify on behalf of Ponyboy and Johnny as to what really happened when Bob was killed, and the court finds Ponyboy not guilty of participating in manslaughter. But after the trial, Sherrie and Ponyboy see each other, but she doesn't talk to him and walks away. Then there's a final scene in the park where Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop resolve their differences and agree to be a family again. Afterwards, that's when Ponyboy reads Johnny's letter to him and then begins to write his own story down.
