Hi, Dave! Yeah, I haven't been into live action genies since Shaquille O'Neal did that Kazaam movie. But I just can't see Will Smith coming close to topping Robin Williams. Will's funny, but he's not stand-up funny, you know? That requires an entirely different kind of timing. Also, I didn't bother with the live action remakes of Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, or The Lion King. I don't really believe in doing that.

Hi, dragonfire! Yeah, I preferred Disney back when they stuck to animated movies and family TV shows, and left the live action stuff to their Touchstone Pictures division. I don't like the idea of Disney owning freaking everything from 20th Century Fox to Marvel Studios to Hulu. That's just too damn big, and when something gets that big, like Facebook, Microsoft, or Bell Telephone, it just sets things up to implode. I would've preferred that Fox had bought out Marvel back in the 90s the way WB bought DC, so we wouldn't have to put up with this nonsense from The Mouse. WTF does the Mouse know about superheroes?

That actually makes some good sense. :) I thought that WB should've done that with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, make some side projects like shorts and stuff to keep interest going.

I haven't seen the RD finale yet, so no spoilers please! I'll tell you what I think after I see it. I was busy getting caught up on Chernobyl yesterday. I'm two episodes into that one.

Yeah didn't Back to the Future did the same thing? Sorry I couldn't help it. After you see it you'll definitely know why I did that.

Hmm, let's see hopefully Aladdin is a hit. I know I'm excited for Toy Story 4, Spider-Man: FFH, and of course The Lion King. Oh, I enjoyed the series finale of The Big Bang Theory.

Make Them Laugh 05-17-2019 11:07 AM

Hi, Chrissy!  I hope you had a good day!

I know, I loved the Varchie ending! No Falice, as usual. :pout: But we did get Bughead. Although... that ending...

Hi, Dave!  I'm glad you posted today. :)

Well, I'm interested in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. Oh, and IT Chapter Two, although I don't know when that's coming out.

OMG, have you guys heard that Robert Pattison is the new Batman? Edward Cullen is Bruce Wayne?

Hi, dragonfire! Uhh, I don't think so. I remember that Back To The Future came out in 1985, and the parts 2 and 3 filmed back to back and came out in 1989 and 1990, although I didn't really like them. They did do an alternate 1985 reality, though. :P ;)

I liked the finale of The Big Bang Theory too, although it didn't really feel like an ending. Not like the Friends finale did.

Yep, I saw the Riverdale finale! So, do you still think Gladys is the Gargoyle King? ;) Well, turns out you were always wrong about that one, but your new theory did turn out to be correct, and I did tell you that Chic being the GK made more sense than Gladys. I can't believe Penelope killed Hal, though. I liked that she was the mastermind behind everything because it also made some weird sense given everything that's happened before. That game she put Varchie and Bughead through was awesome. Both Archie and Jughead had to do battle with monsters, and Betty and Veronica had to drink from poisoned chalices as a test of loyalty. OMG, Cheryl finding Jason's dead body in that wheelchair at the farm was gross. Oh, and you were also right about Falice's son! Charles finally showed up! And he's an FBI Agent! See, this is why you stick to the comics, dragonfire. :P (*coughs*Hank and Janet*coughs*) I was also glad that Alice was working with her son and the FBI all the time.

But there are a few loose ends. Penelope is still lurking out there somewhere, and Cheryl has gone insane, having moved Jason's body to their home.  Hiram had Hermione arrested for the attempt on his life, and he's now(not surprisingly) running things in that prison and planning his revenge on Archie and Veronica. Edgar is still out there and has Alice and the other members of The Farm who "ascended." And that flash-forward ending.... WTF are Archie, Betty, and Veronica doing out in the woods in their underwear, on Spring break, and burning Jughead's clothes? Betty says they need to finish school, graduate, and go their separate ways because it's the only way they can get away with what they've done? Great, now we have to see season 4. I'm guessing that season 5 will be the final season if they get renewed after that.

Make Them Laugh 05-17-2019 03:29 PM

Alex- I think you did mention OUAT in Hollywood at some point this year...I just forgot...I'll pass on IT 2.. John Wick is ok. Hope you get dryer weather this weekend

Chrissy.… do you liked or disliked the finale??

If I am on tomorrow...it will be late

I just found out, and I don't know about this. I hope it all turns out well. :look: I'm talking about continuing the franchise without a live-action sequel. To me it did. That was definitely my favorite part of the season finale. :woot: Not only did he showed up but he showed up, and revealed his ID to Bughead. His first scene was only with them. Also seems when they were all sitting down, there was a Serpent statue on the table. Me too. We'll have to watch S4 to find out, and I guess my thinking of Jughead's S3 end wasn't wrong then. I mean not exactly but close. Maybe, but I think they could get an S6.

Make Them Laugh 05-17-2019 04:06 PM

that 1985 reality was nuts with Biff running the city for the most part because he was a multi-millionaire thanks to his future self visiting him with the Sportsbook

You just found out? Yeah, I think we're all trying to come to grips with this. Just when you though Batfleck was bad. :P  And I don't remember Back To The Future having a non-live action sequel.

Well, I meant that TBBT ending wasn't like the Friends ending, where everyone literally left and went their separate ways. The end of TBBT ended with them all together eating dinner in the middle of the room like always, you know? :)

Oh, as soon as I saw him, I knew who he was. I was hoping he'd reveal himself right then and there and not wait until next season. I didn't notice the serpent statue, though. And what ending for Jughead did you think of, dragonfire? Oh, and did you notice how they didn't even mention Fred? :( This means they'll have to leave it for season 4, and I'm wondering how they're gonna handle it. :( And you think they'll get a season 6? Remember what happens to other shows that try to follow their characters after high school. They usually get ridiculous, like 90210 did for ten years.

Yes I did, Dave. Are you interested in it? And yeah, I know you're not into horror movies. I still have to catch up on the first two John Wick movies.

Yeah, that alternate reality and time travel stuff in Back To The Future 2 probably violated a lot of laws of physics and storytelling, Dave. How can you meet your future self when you travel forward in time? In order for you to have a future self you have to have lived those years, you know? If you go forward into the future, you'll be in a future where you disappeared years earlier and have been gone the whole time. :P

Thanks, I hope you have good weather too! I hope I see you tomorrow!

in BTTF 2 ...I loved the prediction of the baseball teams...hey the Cubs DID play in the world series close to that year...lol

there's a theory that BTTF 2 foreshadowed the Two Towers tragedy

That's a good point, Dave. I've heard that BTTF 2 did get a few things right, like flat screen TVs and 80s nostalgia cafes. That thing about the Cubs was pretty lucky. Too bad it didn't mention the Red Sox. :P But they got everything else wrong, like the self lacing shoes, hover boards, and flying cars.

It did? I didn't notice that.
