I'll add Jake's character name once it's available. But meanwhile, since we've just learned that it's official, we gotta have a thread for it.

Rendition From New Line Cinema, the movie will be directed by Gavin Hood ("Tsotsi"). It is a globe-spanning political thriller centering on a Cairo-based CIA analyst who finds his world spinning out of control after he witnesses the interrogation of a foreign national by the Egyptian secret police. Jake Gyllenhaal has signed on to play the analyst, and Reese Witherspoon will portray the foreign national's Chicago-based pregnant wife.

I love these kinds of movies. I'm so glad Jake accepted it and will be working with Reese. She's a great actress, I respect her a lot. I'll definitely look forward to this movie.

Another news about Rendition. It's basically saying the same.

Jake Gyllenhaal will return to the Middle East and this time he will take Reese Witherspoon with him. Gyllenhaal, Witherspoon For Rendition According to Variety, New Line has picked up Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon to star in their upcoming political thriller Rendition. Gavin Hood will direct and Steve Golin will produce. Hood's recent work includes Tsotsi. The multilayered story centers on a CIA analyst, based in the Middle East whose world spins out of control as he questions his assignment after overseeing the secret-police interrogation of a suspected terrorist. The Middle East has been a hot topic in film of late with quite a few new projects coming our way including Paramount Vantage's A Mighty Heart and Who Killed Daniel Pearl? Witherspoon can soon be seen in Mark Palansky's Penelope, which premiered at this year's Toronto Film Festival. Gyllenhaal will next be seen in Paramount and Warner's Zodiac. link

I'm excited for this movie. Jake and Reese being two of my favorites!
