Another DL Review from Rotten Tomatoes: The Vine.

Rupert has found his niche with Comedy/Drama movies. This is it, this is what he was meant to do. Harry Potter was a fantastic starting point for him, but this movie is his rocket ship to stardom.

Wonderful pics, Sandi! Thanks for posting them! I hadn't seen them before either. I like the one with Devon Murray and with William Moseley.

And thanks for bringing over that review. I just read it and it made my heart 'melt' and made me so incredibly proud. Finally!! People are finally taking notice of his immense and incomparable talent!

I'll add this review to the first post.

ETA

There was another Q&A session this weekend after one of the last screenings of DL, with Jeremy Brock only however since Rupert had to rush back to England because he was due back on the set of OotP. He had again some really great things to say about our dear redhead.

Quote:
Audience member: What was it that made you think that Rupert Grint could handle such a role on his first real foray from the Harry Potter films?

Jeremy Brock: Great question! I'd seen Rupert in the "Harry Potter" films and he has that quality- naturalness- you've all seen it. He has to bear witness for so much of the film, and it is so hard to do, and it will betray you if you can't act. He does it so naturally.

Audience member: What was it like to work with Rupert Grint?

JB: You're going to think he's paying me. (Laughs) He's a joy to work with. He's quite shy but extremely talented. It was a joy.

Audience member: Since the film was partly autobiographical, how much inspiration did Rupert get from you?

JB: Once I knew that Rupert was going to play the role, he came to my house and we discussed the similarities and differnces between my life and the film. He brought his talent to the role. His walk...the way he does that line, "Thank you for having me--" that's all down to him.
Thanks to Hope from rupert-grint.us

Rupert hardly speaks. You're lucky to get anything out of him these days, he just has a wicked sense of humor and he's very eccentric and very unique in the way that he does things. He's like a big kid. I feel like he'll never grow up, which I love.

Oh, he's so cute in that pic! I love it when he smiles like that. Makes him even more adorable.

Thanks for posting it, Sandi!

The St.Louis Post-Dispatch Online have a small review of Rupert's work in Driving Lessons...

Quote:
By Calvin Wilson

Rupert Grint is best known as Ron, the hapless sidekick in the Harry Potter films. So moviegoers might be excused for relegating him to supporting-actor status. But “Driving Lessons,” a comedy-drama in which he co-stars with Julie Walters and Laura Linney, proves that he has what it takes to be a leading man.
We already knew it! HA!

Thanks for posting them, Sandi!
