I think that aspect of their relationship has always fascinated me. Ever since S1, we've seen House portrayed as this character who doesn't care to let anyone in..
Yet that doesn't stand true when you look at his relationship with Cameron.
House seems to have a special connection with her that doesn't translate when you look at how he treats his other employees (Foreman, Chase).
Their connection is completely different than the relationship that House has with anyone else on the show.
And the fact that we've seen it continue to grow and evolve throughout the seasons only serves to make it more interesting.

It is just a relationship that has really hit a note somewhere deep inside. They are different in so many ways, a world apart if you may but it's just something about them, I don't know how to say it. They just have a connection, something unspoken that makes them click so beautifully. I know how people make such a huge deal about their age difference but why is that the only argument they seem to have? If the age difference would be 5 years, would it make any difference? If you manage to find someone in this life you feel a true connection to, age is nothing but a number. Why are people so focused on that? She understands him, he trusts her, she accepts him as he is, he is opening up to her because he knows she understands him because they are both damaged and have scars; his are both external and internal while hers are all on the inside. I see that connection and to me, that's why they will always be my OTP on this show.
Cuddy and House have already had a shot way back when and while it didn't work out then, it will not work out this time either. It will always be the same as it was before. But with Cameron, their relationship is still like a clean slate, their story is waiting to be written and that's what I'm waiting for.

It's really a complicated relation between them and I could so often slap House for not going deeper into it, especially in season 1 where he treats her so rough at the beginning.
The scene where he tells her that he does not like her is nearly unbelievable. But because of that complications every little emotion they both show is so great.
I think we, as the viewers, are getting suppressed all the time, like a valve that is under permanent pressure: every few episodes they open it up for one second.
If they open it up completely (House and Cameron marry for example) the whole tension that was built up would have been blown up.
And, in contrast to a real valve, overpressure is a good thing for a love story.
