I think it all really depends on if Dean embraces the demon or if he tries to fight it. If Dean really has lost all of his humanity I'm betting we will be seeing some seriously heart-wrenching scenes with him and Cas or Cas and Sam about Dean.

If Dean tries to fight for his humanity it might be less traumatic and more hopeful that Cas (and Sam) are who's keeping Dean grounded to his soul/humanity.

^ so true. There are so many ways they can go with this upcoming storyline. I have a feeling that our hearts will be broken at the beginning of the season still, but if Sam & Cas stand firm and help Dean, I'm sure it will all work out just fine (positive thinking, positive thinking)

I know. I want to believe that Dean is going to want to get Cas' help in keeping his soul/humanity, but being a demon will change him drastically. I mean I remember the heartache that Dean went through when Cas became a "god"/dick so I'm sure we will be seeing the opposite this time .
