Can anyone figure out what power Castiel actually has left in s14 and why?

One minute he can use all sorts of Angelic type powers, the next he's very weak and resorting to fiast fighting.

I thought he had grace restored and was back to fullpower?

I haven't had TV for the past few years and so I've missed a lot of Supernatural. Before that, I'm not sure how structured my watching was. I have season 5 and season 10 on DVD, and then i recently bought another season, but since it makes no sense, I stopped watching it and just decided to start over on Netflix. I'm sure it's going to take me FOREVER to catch up.

In any even, at this time I'm up to season 3. It's funny how I've missed some really pivital episodes. And a lot of things, I've known the characters, but not much of the early play of people like Bella, Ruby, the Trickster. Some episodes I DID see, but didn't fully remember.

Anyway, so I'm new to the board, and I'm starting the series from the begining so I wanted to start a thread focusing on the first 2 and 1/2 (so far) seasons... So welcome to the new thread about the old season. Cuz I'm a little bit afraid to bump into some major spoilers since this show has been going for sooo long!

I have only seen bits and pieces of the bunker, but so far, I don't think I'm a major fan...

I read an interview where they explained why they burned down the roadhouse. Kripke said that it was a road show and he didn't want them to have a base of operation. I felt like the roadhouse wasn't really that, more of a touchstone which isn't so bad. How does a roadhouse not make perfect sense for a road show? lol.

Anyway, I feel like they could have kept the roadhouse from being a base of operations quite easily. It was a meetingplace for a lot of hunters, but Sam and Dean were often on the outs with other Hunters, so it would have not been always safe for them their. Besides it was a pass through place, not a base of operations. John passed through and never made it a base of operations. Ellen owned the place. It doesn't seem like she'd be friendly to letting them take it over as their personal base of operations. Not to mention, Ellen could have easily been pissed off at them or whatever and not always welcoming.

And then, in a lot of ways, Bobbie's place almost becomes a base of operations. Maybe between a base and a touchstone...

Fast forward to the BUNKER which is a total base of operations. And there are ALL these poeople there.... The bunker has been around for a while and I guess I didn't pay a lot of attention to it... they have various safe houses and so forth. But post season 10, I was watching some episodes and they go to the bunker and it's just full of people... and I mean, I didn't see how this evolved at all, but I'm thinking... no... I don't like this. This is not my show... My show is about 2 lone guys with a few friends scattered all over. Not like this huge team in a bunker.

And it was AFTER seeing those episodes that I see this article... and of course it's more than a decade later, but I just felt kind of irritated that they had to burn down the roadhouse, which to me fits the show quite perfectly.. and yet down the road (so to speak) they have this massive bunker.

And... long story short, I'm just wondering if other fans have feelings and opionions about the bunker. (Please avoid any major spoilers) I know a lot of you weren't torn up about the road house because there was a lot of Jo hate (even though it didn't eliminate her character)... or just didn't care about Jo or Ellen or whateve... but as an explanation, I think it's pretty lame that the roadhouse was too much of a base of operations and now they are OVER THE TOP with the buker base... maybe they thought after a decade of fighting it made sense that they would create a base... but I still so far, am not a fan of it.
