I'm fine, just another Monday. Struggling with the limitations of the software to convert a "sparse matrix" into a table with neatly filled out columns, when I also don't know in advance how many columns there will be.

Ah, sparse matrices. I remember coding hash-table data structures for those things, back in the days when memory was expensive.

In this case I want values to be "added" (show empty cell) in case there's none in the data, and that proves to be hard. I think I'll have to check whether the query is used elsewhere and if not, add my empty columns to it. Then it will simply be a table with a dynamic header and the looping for the rows is easy.

What is the form of your source data? Off the top of my head, I can't think of a good way to translate X-Y coordinate data into an Excel cell number. Depending on the data, I'd probably write a small piece of code to turn it into a CSV file, and then import that.

This is the first match I thought of, and I was surprised to find that I didn't have it in my spreadsheet.
