Thanks for the new thread! Nice additions to the OP.

Violent Delights 11-28-2017 01:58 PM

Thanks, I had a quick Google. :)

Slayerette89 11-30-2017 04:00 AM

It looks great. The title is awesome too.

Violent Delights 11-30-2017 02:09 PM

Thanks! :)

Rocksound made Chester Icon of the Year.

Violent Delights 12-02-2017 03:33 PM

A no-brainer if ever there was one. Make Chester Proud. :D

fictitious ways 12-03-2017 07:23 PM

It's just sad that the circumstances had to happen for him to get it. I don't think he would've been chosen otherwise. :look:

Violent Delights 12-04-2017 06:37 AM

I know what you mean, but it's always the way it goes.

~AnastasiaGrey~ 12-06-2017 03:32 PM

i am glad he made the cover.

Slayerette89 12-09-2017 08:44 PM

It’s nice to see him get the recognition even though the circumstances under which it happened are terrible. And I’m personally a bit meh about outlets that have never written positively about LP suddenly writing complimentary thinkpieces about them (not that Rock Sound is one of those, as far as I know). But whatever.

Speaking of thinkpieces, here is a bit old (from September) but nice retrospective on Meteora.

fictitious ways 12-10-2017 12:15 PM

I can relate to this. :sigh:

Quote:

I realized that Chester was saying everything that I wanted to say, but just couldn’t articulate. I enjoyed the loud, brash instrumentation and Shinoda’s rap segments, but the honesty in these lyrics was a revelation. Even the softer tracks like “Easier to Run” were poetic and insightful, but still had a bitter edge that resonated. This was shattering my idea of what music could be. I never knew Chester, but it was like he spoke for all of us that were fed up, angry, and in despair.

Violent Delights 12-11-2017 12:13 PM

 listening to One More Light after what happened is such a different experience. :sigh:

fictitious ways 12-11-2017 09:34 PM

It really is. It's such a shame that people were so quick to judge the change in sound and not pay attention to the lyrics. (And I'm guily of that as well.) But I know better now and I've really come to appreciate the album overall.

Violent Delights 12-12-2017 03:51 AM

 me too, it was definitely close to being on my list.

fictitious ways 12-12-2017 07:58 PM

The only reason I'm not putting them on the list is for the most obvious reason, because all would assume it's because of Chester's death, and it partially would be, but it would also be because it's a really good album.

Violent Delights 12-13-2017 03:49 AM

I'm going to list a few albums/artists as an addition to mine anyway  at least one that hasn't released an album this year, but I've listened to a lot. :)

I forgot about this being out tomorrow. :)

fictitious ways 12-14-2017 07:01 PM

I saw the video they did for Crawling. It was interesting slowed down. And Sharp Edges is one my favorites from this album.

Violent Delights 12-15-2017 02:19 AM

I'm listening to the album now.

fictitious ways 12-18-2017 09:02 PM

I enjoyed it. Some of the vocals sounded a bit weird to me, but that's to be expected with a live album.

Violent Delights 12-19-2017 02:38 AM

Me too  and I doubt they were planning to release it when it was recorded, so that could be why.

fictitious ways 12-19-2017 07:08 PM

That's true. I'm still hoping for a DVD version of the tribute concert. :D

Violent Delights 12-20-2017 02:29 AM

sounds like a no-brainer :)
