It's just an abbreviation, a bit like you have "it is" and "it's" in English.
Maak Me Wakker - De Kreuners (Wake Me Up) That's a very sad song actually. It's about two people who are still a couple but living next to each other instead of really together. It's a plea to change things and make it work again. (The full lyrics of that part translate to "wake me up before you go, maybe it's not too late yet"). __________________

That makes more sense... "Detengan" didn't look like a French verb.
My wife and I were dancing in a comp once and they played a cha-cha version of "Swinging On a Star". When it got to the line "Maybe you'd rather be a pig", it hit me funny for some reason and I got the giggles. I could barely finish the dance. My wife didn't hear the lyrics and she wondered what was so funny. The Camera Eye -- Rush (One of my favorite Rush songs, and one of the last long songs they did.) __________________
