I think Zack has a crush on Brennan but that is as far as it goes. I believe even he is aware that Booth is the Alpha male around the lab and that Booth has the prior claim on Brennan. As far as Brennan's feeling for Zack I think she thinks of him as her student (her favorite student but student none the less) who is becoming a friend but I don't see thte Brother- Sister thing. I think there is a level of academic formality that is in the way of a true friendship.

Maeve, I agree with you that Tempe thinks of Zach as a student, who has been helping her a lot, he is becoming a true friend. I guess he can feel the special bond between Brennan/Booth, so he won't interfere

Another thing I just realized was that in the finale Zack got away with calling Brennan 'buttercup'. How did he manage that without getting hurt? Unless Brennan was so distracted by getting to court and his academic explination apeased her.

 Meave, you made a point here. One explanation could be that she was distractes, another one that she didn't mind because she was glad everyone in the lab was trying to help her discover the truth __________________

i have a lot but one of my favorite Zach/Tempe scene is on the episode when zach gets gets doctorate:
Zack: I read a book on body language. Apparently in our culture, when an older male lays an open hand on a younger male, it conveys approval. But if he bumps younger male with a closed fist, it conveys doubt. Dr. Grayson went like this... (Pats Brennan's shoulder with open hand 3 times) Zack: Not like this... (Hits Brennan's shoulder with a fist 3 times) Zack: Like this... (Pats Brennan's shoulder with open hand 3 times) Zack: Not like this... (Hits Brennan's shoulder with a fist 3 times.) Brennan: Dr. Grayson is elderly and arthritic. Perhaps he simply needed help getting to his feet like this... (Pushes down on Zack's shoulder 3 times) i liked that part i thought it was cute __________________
