Because I didn't watch it from the beginning. Only started at the tale in of the first season. And then had to catch up. Some episodes I didn't even watch until I got the DVD of the first season. But this one the one that grabbed me that they actually were beginning the dance with Booth and Brennan. Seeing the rest of the season later, I could see other moments but this episode was one of the first to really show it. How she goes into his arms when he risks further injury to rescue.
And their hug. And then the end when she stays. I love the episode. __________________

Yeah, I didn't start watching from the beginning either. I probably saw this episode after I'd been watching for about 2 months and I didn't watch in order. I love how she stayed with Booth at the end.

I loved how she ditched her date to be with Booth as well. Even then she wanted to be with him.

She wanted to stay. Yeah, she made a excuse to stay. Even though we learned she kept seeing the guy, still she wasn't about to leave Booth that day. I loved how determined he was to get out of the hospital. And a first hint of a friendship between Hodgins and Booth. And how Hodgins was so gungho about it.

I love this episode so much. Along with Verdict in the Story it's my favorite episode of Bones.

He put it together. And was determined, health be damned to go save her... Since I came to the show later, I saw it in reruns and it was the first glimpse that the show was going to go there at some time. The chemistry really shined through as he rescued her and she really clung to him.

I totally agree. I also didn't get into the show from the beginning. I started watching between seasons 4 and 5 and I didn't watch the episodes in order but the first time I watched this episode it became one of my favorites.
