I've actually heard a quote from Christina Ricci saying she does indies because there's no pressure to be in the mainstream so if you purposely put yourself on the outside there's no disappointment if you don't get nominated. She said it was kind of scary when she got a nod for her role in Monster, she saw upclose how things are run and still prefers to do the indies!

I wonder if that's the same idea for most indie film actor's/actresses'

I don’t really watch Indies but I do agree that there’s less pressure on the actors & I think when they do get nominated for awards their work is far more appreciated.

I agree. I think she was great in Buffalo 66. The only movie lately where she's more main stream is in Cursed and I loved that one!
