Val, you should really read the book! It's like 10x better than the movie. I didn't hate the movie necessarily; I just felt really disappointed by it. They left so much out and changed so much stuff from the book. I felt that the book was a whole lot darker and complicated (which I liked), and the movie just made it seem like any other happy (well, not happy, but happier) love story.

As much as would love for Rachel to get a GG nomination, I'm glad she didn't get one for this role. It wasn't her best role, in my opinion. It wasn't her fault really. She did well with what she had to work with. If the movie stayed truer to the book, like included Ingrid, included Clare and Gomez cheating with each other, etc, it might have been a completely different role, and one more worthy of a nomination perhaps.

I agree with Belle. Rachel definitely has talent! She's got so much potential! She just needs the right roles that will lead the way to GG and Oscar nominations. Her recent roles haven't been the best, but I'm still crossing my fingers for her future projects!

i read the book and saw the movie for this...
the book was better but rachel did an amazing performance in it.

I agree, the movie is more happier and somehow more a chick flick. The book has a whole other perspective somehow. Darker, like Rukia said!

Glad you agree! I think maybe they changed the movie to 'appeal' to the audiences more. Oh well.

when i saw the movie i was like waiting for something.. anything to happen.
it bothered me soo much. it looked soo much better in the preivews .

i came home and my mom had asked me how i liked it and i said i was disappointed.

everyone who didn't read the book or anything was like i loved it but i just didn't like it.

I know what you mean, Emily! I didn't hate the movie; I was just disappointed. My hopes kinda fell already from the trailer and previews. They just looked too bright and cheery.

i actually liked the preivews. but the movie was def. disappointing.

The trailer did a good resume of the film...they showed almost all of the important scenes.

yeah i read the book after i was terribly disappointed by the movie.
i had heard such amazing things from the book so the next day i ran out and got it. once i started reading it i couldnt put it down lol

Yeah, the book was really good.

That's interesting that you didn't like movie even though you hadn't read the book. I think by having read the book beforehand, I had certain expectations that the movie didn't quite meet. That's why I didn't love the movie. Some of the scenes were beautifully shot though.

The extras are disappointing, so I'm not in a rush to go buy the DVD. I might hold off for a while, even though I'd like to see the movie again. How about you?

There are no commentaries, deleted scenes or bloopers. I think there's a few featurettes, but I would have much rather have deleted scenes or a commentary.
