Mothers and daughters do have conflicts and I thought it was about time that Topanga and Riley disagreed about something. I just didn't like the battle/moment that Riley picked to push back against Topanga. On the one hand, I know how Riley felt, having to accept the end of one of her favorite shows, so she wanted to re-visit the series before it ended. On the other hand, Topanga told Riley that she needed her at Topanga's and she chose to ignore her request to watch a TV show. I keep weighing the two sides, and I always come out on Topanga's side. She had a right to be upset with Riley for defying her. I didn't think she needed to apologize to her. Being a good person did not give Riley points that she could use to rebel. I thought she should have picked a different battle. :look:

I agree. I think it's relatable and Riley is at that age to start having those conflicts with her mother. And because of that, I think she will start learning how to pick her battles, I mean, she's young she's just at the beginning. :lol: But I liked that she actually confronted her mom instead of just lying like 99% of the teenagers do.

Poor Topanga needs to afford that teen angst :lmao:

I think she wanted to be a grown up, not really to rebel. But I love how both showed their strong personality but also how much it hurt them their fight.

Oh yeah, Riley's always been trying to be a grown up out there... at varying degrees of success ;)

I didn't see it that way. I guess I'll have to re-watch the episode to see how I see things. :snail: :look: The part in bold -- I loved that too! They tried so hard to be strong and to stick to their guns that they were right and the other person was wrong...but in the end, all that mattered to them was that they understood why the other person was mad, and they reconciled. :melt:
