I feel like we didn't really get to see it happen offscreen, but the longer Angela was dating Shawn, the closer she & Topanga seemed to get as well

^ I can only assume that's how it happened. It would have been really hard for Topanga and Angela not to get closer, especially when they were dating best friends who were always getting into trouble, and who weren't always the smoothest of boyfriends. It probably bonded them to know that they could rely on each other for advice and comfort when they needed it.

Yeah, & I wouldn't be surprised if, in the beginning, Topanga had to warn what Angela was getting into with Shawn & his friendship with Cory

No, I don't think she realized how close they were when they first got together. I think she really saw it for herself when her and Topanga worked at that restaurant. Seeing how crazy and jealous they both got over them going out dancing with those guys lol.

Yeah, they seemed to be spending a lot of time together - at school, work & then going dancing, they must have really enjoyed each other's company!
