^ Indeed it does. I always seem to come up with inspiration at the oddest times. Then when I'm replying to threads, I forget what those scenes were. At some point, I'm going to have to write down some of my headcanons.

^ That's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that? Once I re-start my re-watch and I get to season five, I'm sure that those headcanons are just going to spring to my mind.

I think so too. I just hope they were civil towards one another. It would definitely make for peaceful family gatherings if they all got along with one another.

I think they would definitely be civil, Shawn's not the type to just confront people for no reason & from what we've heard about Jack's mom, she seemed like a nice lady - she did raise a real gentleman after all

Having said that, there would definitely be some tension. Shawn has his issues with his father, but he really doesn't like when other people think badly of him - & we know that Chet was abusive to Jack's mom, so I bet she really wouldn't have a high opinion of him.....plus, Shawn would probably resent Jack's family a little bit because things seemed to work out so well for them. It would definitely be complicated.

That's true. I'm just glad that they reunited when they did so that they could help each other deal with the baggage.


I think so too. I think there might have been some tension between them because they saw Chet in different ways, but I like to think that that tension would have lessened with more time they spent together. I'm sure they at least tried to be civil so that Jack wouldn't be caught in the middle.

^ I know, right? From my experience, dramas/dramedies make it a point to dive into the good stuff, whereas more often than not, comedies/sitcoms try to find the laughs.

Oh, how I wish Jack's mom had delivered Shawn's letter to him. They could have met a lot sooner than they did.

I agree, they just mentioned once that Chet was abusive....I guess it was too dark for them to get into. Would have been a hard storyline to get into while trying to tell a joke every minute as well....so maybe it's for the best

I can see that. It was a dark subject matter. It would have been impossible for the guys and the other characters to find anything remotely humorous about that situation. I wish we had heard a little bit more about why Shawn and Jack had different impressions of Chet.
