Yearbook was such a great ep for us, they had so many little moments & they really didn't do anything to dispel that they should be favorite couple

I kind of wish Lucas and Maya had protested the 'favorite couple' title. It would have just convinced the classmates that they had made the right choice after all.

I kinda thought that's what would happen when it got out that Maya & Lucas were voted favorite couple, that it would lead to a Riley/Lucas moment where he would say something like 'I don't care what everyone thinks, I know what I feel blah blah blah'

.....but he didn't. He didn't defend his 'unofficial thing' with Riley at all. Interesting, isn't it?

^ That sounds familiar. I actually meant, I wish they had tried to prove to the classmates why they were not the favorite couple, complete with charts, graphs and a long disagreement/argument. Then they would turn to the classmates to see their reactions...only to see that they had not been swayed, that they still believed that they made the right choice. I could have imagined them gushing about how fiery Lucas and Maya were, almost like they were saying "See? This is why we love you. This is why you got the title." Methinks thou dost protest too much.

^ I agree. TPTB certainly dropped a big hint with the appointment of the 'favorite couple' title. I am always going to wonder what they would have done with these two if there had been more seasons. I am positive that they would have gotten their chance in season four or five.


She did look shook, didn't she? That's what makes it so great. Neither one of them expected it. It wasn't like they campaigned for it. They just did their thing by bantering back and forth, and they were surprised by the appointment. I bet it definitely got both of them thinking that maybe the Classmates knew something that they didn't.

Looking back now, I think that Lucas was still pretty clueless but that it was definitely a part of Maya's realization

^ The seed definitely seemed to be planted in her head when the Classmates paired her with Lucas like that. Then slowly it grew and grew until the big realization in Texas Part 1 where it became clear that she did have feelings for him.
