^ I'm happy you agree. I love that she gives off that vibe, despite the fact that she hasn't always had the easiest go at things. She tries to look at the bright side of things, because she hopes that things will get better.

That's a very good point, she could easily have been a very pessimistic & negative person, but I'm glad that she didn't go that way

^ Exactly! I think she would have been pessimistic and negative if she hadn't had Maya to take care of. Katy having Maya made her put on a brave face, and it made her have to look for the bright side of things.

^ Yes! Having a child definitely makes a person grow up. A person can't afford to be selfish when he or she is responsible for another life, especially when that life is a baby that is counting on their parent to guide them and protect them.

I was glad we got to see different sides of Katy and how real she was. It was nice to see her struggle, and overcome some obstacles.

She was very well developed as a character. And I think Cheryl did an amazing job of showing Katy's struggles and her ability to overcome any difficulties that she encountered.
