I think she was talking like metaphorically. Because I mean they never had actually been 'official'. But they have always had an 'unofficial' thing. After Girl Meets New World they both had an understanding of having romantic feelings for each that they would explore fully when they were ready. But, you know, the whole Texas thing happened and made everything confusing.
