I think William giving his all to everything he does/taking everything he does very seriously is why he's so loved and respected as a person and an actor.    __________________

^ Of course it was Eric. I was going to guess that it was either Cory or Eric who was responsible for Mr. Feeny being covered in food.

Mr. Feeny getting food thrown or dumped on him was probably not the only thing that he had to deal with from his students during SAT prep time. I can only imagine what else he witnessed or in what other ways he got caught in the crossfire of his students' panic and/or frustrations.
