I think he was more of a mentor for Eric than them all.
Eric always seemed to go back to Mr. Feeny,
and had this great special relationship!

^ That's true. I don't think they've really thought about why their friendship works. They've just enjoyed the fact that they've connected with each other in a special way, and that they've been there for each other when they've needed help.

^ Yes, we do. I'm so happy that Mr. Feeny had had Eric in his corner, and vice versa. Their friendship added so many layers to their characters.

Aw! I love that Mr. Feeny chose Eric to stand beside him at his wedding. It shows that they truly do have a special bond.

I feel like he might have thought that Eric would screw it up all by himself

...or he actually thought that Eric was an ok guy for Jessica to be with, although he probably wouldn't admit that if so
