I've thought about that too, but he's still got a job that's all about helping people, so I'm good with that

Even though I think Eric would have been awesome at it, I think having the Matthews brothers both become teachers because Mr. Feeny inspired them would have been a little too 'been there, done that'. I'm happy that Mr. Feeny's influence on Eric inspired him to find a path where he will be able to help people so beautifully.

^ Exactly. And I think Eric could have been really great at being a teacher, but he would have probably gotten in trouble for not teaching his students the material in their books.

Oh, yes. Eric did tell Mr. Feeny that he was going to do good in the world, all because of Mr. Feeny's teachings and influence.

^ That is amazing! There are so many great moments in that set. One of my favorite moments is the first gif in the second row. I will always remember that moment because Eric felt like he wasn't smart, but Mr. Feeny showed him that he was smart.

Yeah, it was such a lovely moment. Eric was tempted to cheat because he genuinely wasn't sure if he could do it by himself, but Feeny believed in him

^ That's so much better than what I posted. Even though Eric considered it, he knew that it wouldn't be right. I think he didn't want to win the prize if he couldn't look himself in the mirror and be proud that he earned it.

^ That is true. It's also great to see the progression of their friendship. In the first few seasons, they were merely teacher and student, but the later seasons had them have more of a mentor and mentee relationship.

^ Yes! It seemed like Eric didn't remember a time when Mr. Feeny wasn't part of his life, so he probably did think of him as a family member...and I think Mr. Feeny felt the same way. He will always be an honorary Matthews, that's for sure.
