Oh, I hope you can soon!
I haven't seen this movie either but I really want to. People keep comparing this movie to Phantom of the Opera... :look:
Really........I don't see that comparison at all.
niether do i...how is it like POTA?:look:
Seriously, I really don't get that.......unless they are only referring the whole "wears a mask" thing. :look:

Hello Everyone!
Just popping in to show some love for Natalie in "Vendetta". She was amazing! So the Phantom of the opera thing? yeah I can kinda see it. Actually to be honest it was one of the first things I noticed about halfway through the film. It's the whole "young woman falls in love with the man behind the mask" angle. The Phantom Terrorizes the opera house- V terrorizes London etc etc... But it's not entirely spot on with PotO. I wouldn't compare the two films like that cause they're completely different story lines. I can't wait to see this movie again! |
Yeah, the storylines couldn't have been more different.
yea, i can understand the whole "Behind the mask" thing, but other than that, V4V is nothing like POTO...:look:
Same here, it's nothing like it storyline wise.
I watched V For Vendetta a while back, it was good! Natalie was excellent as Evey, you can see why she agreed to sign on for this movie. It's a thinking film, and I thought Hugo Weaving was really good as V, too.
The scene I can't get out of my mind is the one when the British Government gets sworn in, you know, and there's the screen image of the prime minister or whatever his name/role is, I forgot, and he goes, "Victory!" or something, and there are people marching, and it's all red and black - the scene is so visually arresting, and the use of red and black as the party's colours is so stark and demanding. Wow. |
That was a powerful moment. And then to realize what hypocrites they all were.
Precisely!
V For Vendetta is nothing like POTO, other than the mask thing. But that's just a very, very superficial relation. |
