Off Topic #49: Cause we talk about more than just Bryan

Not yet :( she’s been feverish and this morning they took her for bloodwork and a scan of her lungs. They wanna check if her virus has turned into something else because her cough isn’t getting better. And the fever keeps them concerned.

She needs to be 24hrs fever-free before she can go home cause if they’d let us go home now we could be back here by the end of the week.

Michelsita 06-11-2019 07:05 PM

Oh Jessie!

Please let us know how Margo is doing and I'm praying for all of you.

You can take some time off the board, I will be here.

golden_girl 06-13-2019 12:05 AM

It’s been a little hectic in the last 24hrs. Pretty unexpectedly they released her yesterday noon. She’s still on medication and can’t go to daycare for little over a week but she’s at home getting better.

Michelsita 06-13-2019 06:28 PM

Margo is home!

Best news I had today.

My mother fell in the shower and broke her wrist and two ribs.... it has been a terrible day.

golden_girl 06-14-2019 01:05 PM

Owhn, so sorry to hear that! I hope she isn’t in too much pain!

Michelsita 06-14-2019 07:58 PM

She is in a lot of pain and it's difficult for her to move around.

TGIF!

stlavin95 06-15-2019 05:11 PM

Sorry to hear about your mum

Anyone got weekend plans?

golden_girl 06-16-2019 08:56 AM

Hope your mom is starting to feel better!

we were double booked yesterday. 10year anniversaryparty and a wedding. Did try for both though!

Trying to get back in schedule for the early shift tomorrow.

Michelsita 06-16-2019 04:37 PM

How is Margo feeling?

stlavin95 06-16-2019 04:53 PM

What time does the early shift start?

Michelsita 06-17-2019 07:41 PM

Having an ill mother and being a lawyer is exhausting....

golden_girl 06-18-2019 12:18 PM

It’s double, since sunday she was having more reflux but we went to the pediatrician today and everything from her admission has resolved we just need to try different milk.

Early starts at 5.00, my alarm goes off at 3.45. I’m home by 14.00

I hear you, i hope she gets better soon!

Michelsita 06-18-2019 08:01 PM

That's really early!

I can't imagine how is to have a baby, Jessie you are a rockstar.

golden_girl 06-19-2019 05:12 AM

A few years ago it was even starting at 4.40 but that was before i started doing shifts.

It feels like doing 2 fulltime jobs but i get help from Tom. We take care of each other whether its prep or reminders or small stuff. Many people say it takes a village, well .... it does. Especially when the normal routine is broken. You learn to rely on spouse/partner, pediatricians, daycare, parents, in-laws or even friends in some cases.

And it’s about how ready you are to change and how well you know yourself and limits and boundaries. And learning to call for help. That’s been a big one fo me.

Michelsita 06-19-2019 06:25 PM

Learning to call for help, was one of the biggest discoveries of my life.

I'm happy to read how clearly you understand that raising a child is a big task.

golden_girl 06-20-2019 12:36 PM

Being one of the last ones in our circle has given us many different examples of what we might expect but each child has other ways of being and showing their wants and needs.

I don’t think i was mentally ready enough two years ago, and to add a little one in the situation we were in, wasn’t a good idea anyway.

You get used to it after a while and it’s only 5 mornings in a row, the next week it’s the late shift which starts at noon and you could catch up on sleep.

Weekend

True

Got any plans?

golden_girl 06-23-2019 05:39 AM

Mini-Photoshoot yesterday for my grandmothers birthday next month, me and my cousin got her 3 great grandkids together for a decent picture (she already has one of the older generations each)

One of the last baby visits this afternoon.

You?

Anyone need some extra degrees? Today marks day one of a heatstroke. They’re expecting 32-33° the entire week, even on next Saturday. Daycare has asked to dress the kids appropriately. I’m starting Margo with a T-shirt and light pants, I don’t care if she ends up going home in one of her sleeveless onesies. :D i’ll Probably be giving her cooling baths before the last bottle just to be sure she’ll be sleeping well.

stlavin95 06-23-2019 05:44 AM

Sounds like a busy weekend then

Didn't get up too much, wasn't feeling that great yesterday

Michelsita 06-23-2019 07:59 PM

That is a busy weekend!

I had a bday party and then run some errands.

That’s a heatwave! Here we are supposed to have rain all week amd maybe snow!
