Filming dates - 8/29 - 9/11

Teacher - In the day care center office a teacher in her 30s holds a phone and is rocking a crying child in her lap. She's on the phone with Annie, the mother. The teacher tells her its Karen and Henry took a spill off the slide and will probably need some stitches. Annie asks medical questions, its gibberish to Karen who tells Annie she's a teacher and he's in the OR. Annie says she'll be right down. (IMO, its probably the ER for stitches and not the OR.)



Surgeon - OR is packed. 20 or so surgeons gathered to watch Dr. Clawson. They're amazed and enthralled. A surgeon raises their hand and says in the journal of medicine Dr. Clawson suggested a posterior approach so why use anterior? Dr. Clawson says "Did I say that?" then smiles and is charming and begins to explain the procedure to the excited surgeons.



Samantha/Davis - Dr. Clark (seemingly Meredith) enters Samantha's room with an intern. The room has been transformed into a Zen sanctuary with dimmed lights, music, etc. to try to keep Samantha from having more seizures. Samantha asks where's the baby belly, Dr. Clark says it turned into a baby boy, Samantha congratulates her, Dr. Clark says she'd show pictures but he's so cute it might give her another seizure. Says to the intern "she's had a bunch of them". Samantha says not recently. Her husband Davis, nods enthusiastically. Too enthusiastically. Samantha says he hates the music. Dr. Clarke tells her that after the procedure she won't need the music to keep her calm and can flip out like the rest of us. Samantha says "and have a baby like it. Its so impressive. I don't know how you handle everything". Dr. Clarke says she's not sure she does either. Next scene, outside Samantha's room. Dr. Hall is talking to a nurse as Davis runs out panicking, saying its happening again.



Reese/Donna - ER trauma room, nurses are working on Reese Carter, 22. Bloody, femur jetting out of a wicked gash from a bungee jumping accident. She's a daredevil defined. Dr. Clark (its Owen, they left Dr. Hunt in there) tells her they're going to get her all fixed up. Owen and the nurses are examining and Donna (20) stands off to the side worried and stressed. She's Reese's BFF but looks older. Reese says she acts like her mother, Donna says she's not watching her try to kill herself again. Clearly this is not a new argument for the two friends. Reese says its a little break. Owen says there's a busted rod from a previous repair and asks about it. Donna says its from heli-skiing last year. Reese says she was sick a lot as a kid and guesses she's making up for lost time. Later, ER waiting area. Dr. Hall fills Donna in on Reese's condition - they are taking her to surgery to repair the kidney. Tells her to call family members to come in. Donna says she doesn't have any, that they flew in yesterday for the jump. Dr. Hall says they are going to need to get in touch with her emergency contact so they can be prepared to make medical decisions. Donna asks like power of attorney? Dr. Hall answers worst case, yes. Donna looks like she is going to sob but suddenly laughs. She says she is the medical power of attorney. They talk, she's been through this before. All the parachuting and stuff started when Reese went into remission. She had leukemia as a kid.



OR waiting room, day. Dr. Hall is telling Donna they couldn't save Reese's Kidney. Dr. Hall says she needs a donor if they can find one. She'll go on dialysis until they do waiting to hear what Donna decides. Donna struggles with this, Dr. Hall says she doesn't need to make the decision. Its the thing Donna has been waiting to hear for a long time. Donna gives her speech saying what she needs is a boyfriend, a job, a cruise and to backpack through Europe. She never got to to that in college because Donna relapsed. She was a foster kid and had no one. She gave up her semester abroad and became her person. She's been making the life or death decisions for her ever since and she doesn't want to. But can she do that, can she say no? Dr. Hall says yes, its Donna's life and she should backpack through Europe, go on that cruise, get a boyfriend and dance in her underwear. She can say no!



Donna says Reese would hate her. Dr. Hall says she's a grown woman and Reese isn't a sick kid anymore. You can say no. They go back and forth saying No! then both exhale, exhilarated. Dr. Hall says 'so, I'm gonna go tell them no?". Reese says Yes! and off the 2 women, revitalized.



Gabe/Doris - Dr. Streuber meets Gabe Samuels, 40s, a tent draped around his butt. She looks at his chart saying he's had blockage since yesterday. She lifts the drape and we can tell by her face its bad. She says its .... quite swollen, he says he fell, it was a bad fall, she says its really swollen for just a fall. He says it wasn't just a fall, he may have fallen on something. Dr. S asks what, he says the pet gerbil. Dr. S says "Gerbil? I'm sorry, I don't understand..." He goes on making it up as he goes along, talking about making a sandwich, falling and the gerbil running up his butt. Says can you believe it? Dr. S kinda can't, says IV may help the swelling go down. Gabe asks if it would make a difference if it were a hamster? Gabe is trying to keep his story in check.



Dr. S is back with a more senior doctor, Dr. Hall. She lifts the drape, freezes while trying not to react, but there is horror in her eyes. Gabe says he feels like he may explode. Dr. Hall asks "sir, did you put a gerbil in your bum?" Gabe says no, Dr. Hall keeps looking at him. Gabe is in pain and says Maybe. Yes. and screams. Dr. Halls says book an OR before--- Suddenly he stops, Gabe says something happened. Dr. Hall .... before the bowel perforates, which just happened. Gabe screams bloody murder, Dr. Hall yells 'get me an OR'



Gabe's room day - Gabe is in his room sedated and a nurse is at the monitor outside his door as Dr. Hall approaches. The nurse says here's the post op instructions for his wife. Dr. Hall says 'he has a wife?' just as Doris, Gabe's wife approaches. Doris says she was out of town and just got back. Dr. Hall apologizes and feels terrible. Its nothing new to Doris. She knows her husband has the crazy fetish and she looks crazy for being married to him. Doris explains that she doesn't know what possessed Gabe to put a gerbil in his butt but she knows he was so ashamed he almost didn't come to the hospital. She knows they're thinking how could you be with a man like him but she loves him, this is 1 thing and there are 500 things that are much more interesting. Doris rests her case as she goes to see her husband.

The first part sounds like something to do with Zola....maybe tuck as well....annie could be Meredith.

the second part sounds like something to do with Derek

the third part I agree, sounds like Meredith...but it could also be Derek since it is dealing with seizures.... Though the next paragraph says the DR. is Owen....very confusing.

The rest makes me think the writers need to go somewhere to get inspiration.....a gerbil? really? I hope that is just something to throw us off.....

I bet the child hurt is all Callie/Arizona drama; April is on the Gerbil one I'm pretty sure.

That is what I thought as well, that April is the one with the gerbil.....
