Owen and Derek have had their ups and downs over the years. I remember how pissed Derek was at Owen after the plane crash. They really haven't been close since. I did love in season 6 when Owen referred Derek to being married to "the other half of the twisted sisters," and then when Owen/Cristina were fighting at the same time as Meredith/Derek in season 8, they worked on the house together. Still, they can never have what Mark/Derek had.

I loved at the end of season 9 when Alex was threatening Jo's ex-boyfriend, and he referred to Derek as his friend, and then Derek chewed him out for blackmailing the guy.

I miss Mark and their friendship too Mark was awesome and it was always fun to see him with Derek or Mer as well

I actually loved Derek's scenes with Bailey's hubby Ben. I think that could be a good friendship as well
