Very intense episode. The scenes in Iraq were well done. Sad sad stuff.

Ok episode.
Some parts were really funny, like the Richard line, other too much dramatic, all the Owen scenes with his captain. Derek stole Mer's surgery? Not cool. I smell trouble for CA. I like Teddy, she's not a bad character. But I don't know if I like her with Mark. __________________

It took me two days to finally find a free hour to watch this episode.......yeeaaaahhhhhhidunno. Meh.
I was kind of unimpressed by the flashbacks. Frankly, I was expecting something far more gruesome to happen to Owen. I mean, not to say what they showed wouldn't be absolutely horrible, but they've been building up the severity of his Iraq experiences for SO. FREAKING. LONG that my expectations were really high. Plus, judging souly by what I've heard firsthand from soldiers who actually did come back from Iraq, I think what they showed us in this episode doesn't begin to compare to the emotional trauma that actually occurs in war on a regular basis. I was never all that anti-Owen, I actually liked him a lot for a while and really loved him and Christina. But I'm just bored by it. Yeah, yeah, he got traumatized and is all emotionally stable blah blah blah, I'd like to see something else brought to his character. Also, I want to see him and Teddy together just because it's so jammed down our throats. The characters are written to compliment each other and with every episode that's just more and more reinforced. I'd like to go back and calculate how much Owen/Christina screen time there is vs. Owen/Teddy screen time. With that said, I kind of just want to see Owen and Teddy pair off and disappear a little, and Christina can fall back on Jackson or something. He's just seriously awesome. Whoville? C'mon! Oh man, all the awkward Richard scenes were downright painful to watch I felt so sympathetically awkward. I was sad Lexie didn't even have a line. Oh, and Callie was just gorgeous. I hate the conflict...when Arizona dropped her hand it was just heartbreaking. Usually I'm very glass half full with Grey's episodes, but I guess I ended up being pretty cynical about this one. I was a lot happier about it earlier, but popping 4.14 into the DVD player after may have ruined it in comparison. Hooray for optimism for next week!! Last edited by Rodya; 03-28-2010 at 02:19 AM |

Owen is getting on my nerves, is he still in therapy?
Please bring back Amy Madigan and get this fool back on the damn couch Shonda. Sara Gilbert was excellent as the terminally ill patient. She's equally as great an actress as her big sis Melissa. |
