I agree about the gif Michele. I don't know how to do it tho, so if anyone can do it and send me, I will add it as soon as I have it. And the bed next week...it's like FINALLY! And can you imagine Japril narrates the episode next week? Someone on tumblr said that possibility and seriously, that would be AWESOME!!! And it will fit the episode so much!

We'll see maybe some the the regulars who used to post will start coming around again. I still haven't see the full episode but have seen their scenes on youtube. What I have seen is amazing and next week looks even better. It looks centric! Remember this is the episode Justin tweeted about the episode being amazing, Shonda said it was the best table read, Jesse tweeted the apartment scene. I think this one is going to be even better. We have seen more of them in the sneak peek and promo for this ep than we have for most of 11a. I'm excited and will not miss this one that's for sure :lol:

Hey guys! What an episode, huh? I really, really enjoyed it. My heart was racing the entire time. Man, Sarah Drew is so phenomenal. She just blew me away last night. And Jesse.. about time he gets material to show his depth and talent as an actor. I liked the way it played out last night. It wasn't like we had imagined, but we technically did see Jackson tell her. And she wasn't in denial as much as trying to forget about it. I loved watching her lose it on Stephanie, her interaction with Hunt and Callie. And that last scene just completely gutted me. I was bawling. When she told him they were having a boy, so freaking sad man.
As far as the storyline goes.. I am really torn. I don't know what is going to happen. Just based on Shonda's interviews and the promo/sneak from next week, it really does LOOK like this will become about a pro-life doctor terminating a late term pregnancy. I say this because Jackson and April are well aware of the types in the promo, and are ONLY discussing what they should do if the baby ends up having type II. I know we've said that the OI website says type cannot be determined in the womb, but I've read real-life stories of people that were told while pregnant the type. So maybe there is an advanced test that can tell you, I don't know. But that being said.. it appears that ONLY if the baby is type 2, Jackson thinks they should terminate. April knows he thinks this and wants him to say it out loud. She, on the other hand, is holding on to hope that it is NOT type II. Which indicates, to me, that if the baby has anything other than type II, termination would not be on the table. So.. just going by that.. it seems that they are going to give the baby type II. Because if the baby has anything other than type 2, the whole religious/science/abortion thing is no longer on the table. So just based on what we've been given and what we've seen.. it could very well be their baby is doomed with type 2, which is fatal, and no miracle treatment will help. It also means the baby will likely fracture bones for the remainder of the pregnancy. I've read that doctors don't believe the baby feels pain in the womb, but there's no way of know that. So that would be a very good reason for April to seriously consider terminating. To save her baby from more pain and a terrible, painful death shortly after it's born. It would also save her from having to carry that baby, you know what I mean? Personally I think I am leaning towards this being about April deciding to save her baby from any more pain and suffering and end the pregnancy. That would fit with Shonda's "a VERY pregnant, VERY Christian Sarah Drew pitched this storyline.." and why she would be surprised. Why she would be proud of how Sarah handled the storyline and how April comes out the other side. I could see this storyline, even with a dead baby, turning out beautifully with how Jackson and April cope and come out of the heartache even closer and stronger than ever before. Another thing tho that gets me is Shonda saying they'd learn what it means to be Avery's. Mama A using all the leverage in the world and finding some sort of treatment for the baby would certainly fit that bill. So maybe we will get lucky and the baby will have type 3, which is bad, but not as terrible as 2. Which is why they are still having discussions with Herman in 11 and why they must make a decision. I dunno! So really.. it could go either way. I am just so excited to watch it. AND THEY HAVE A BED. I repeat. THEY HAVE A BED!!! Also regarding the side. Okay, let's just forget for a minute that there's absolutely zero indication at all that this doctor is Jackson other than him having a penis, and discuss what's going on in the side. Has Jackson ever shown interest in teaching residents? Um, no. Would Jackson give any Fs in space about cell research for cardiomyopathy? Um, no. Does Jackson seem like the type that would have sexually charged moments with interns right after he and his wife lose their child? No. Also, the genders on the sides are often interchanged. Shonda has mentioned bringing on more MEN to this show for Stephanie and Maggie. And if by some small, minuscule chance this WAS Jackson, he'd come across as the biggest douchebag of all time. So, no. Not happening. Why start worrying about something that is so unlikely when we have PLENTY of factual stuff to worry about. Also I think the apartment scene Jesse tweeted is the April/Jackson/Mama K scene. |

Jackie!! :hug: glad you're back! As always, loved reading your post and your insight. I see them going with type 2 as well, and this was my fear because how do you pull out of that one? I don't know if anything even gene therapy or stem cells can even work as far as I've read and between what you and Tracy have posted type 2 is pretty much fatal. Even still, knowing they go the type 2 route i *still* want to believe the baby lives but how and what kind of lifestyle he will have after he is born I have absolutely no idea. I think I have also decided that the baby will be a boy now. I don't think they would go along calling it a "he" and then change the gender that seems petty at this point. There are bigger issues here ie termination, religion vs medicine, deciding whether to carry to term, if it is possible at all, what is best for the baby and then later treatment options which i am sure are discussed after the type is determined although we have discussed that it cannot be, but it seems like they are set on diagnosing it as type 2.
Also, I loved April ripping into Stephanie. Sure, I get that Stephanie never really did anything to April however, Stephanie has been mingling in their lives since they got married and it was not right of her not to disclose her inkling to April first. Jackson and April...I loved the 2 scenes that I saw. Jackson obviously wants the very best for her and wants to do whatever she wants or needs except she doesn't want him to do anything. The ending was so sweet, however do still think she will continue to not want to talk and that is going to frustrate Jackson. Their original problem was not talking and I am glad he recognizes this and wants to now. I just wish April would open up to him and allow him to be there, to be the support she needs so that they can get through this together. |
Sarah said she chose that SL because it's somtehing that happened to friends of her parents. She didn't say if the baby end at the end or nothing like that. I really think maybe they make April embrace the idea of abortion as a possibility and then Dr. Hermann says it's not type II. I really think the stem cell is gonna play some sort of role in this SL. Mama A didn't mention these two thing in 10x16 for nothing. And for me, the certificate can be the result for the text without any problem.

Here is something I am curious about regarding the late-term abortion.
My friend had a baby with Trisomy 13 or 18, whichever one is fatal. They INDUCED labor and she delivered the baby at 23 weeks. She held her. She named her. The baby died shortly after and was buried. Could this be the way it goes with Jackson and April's baby? Not necessarily an abortion in the simplest definition but still "terminating" the pregnancy. Their baby would be born. There would be a need for a BIRTH CERTIFICATE. A pastor blessing that baby. And then the baby passing. Would also fit with why Mama Avery is there, as support for Jackson and April. Then April could take time off work (which would explain Sarah's absence) and we'd hear about how she's coping through Jackson. Which, going by the side in 15, is not very well up until that point. It seems like their "baby arc" is 6-11. Then Jackson will be focused on his transgendered patient and April is taking time off from work. Then it picks back up in 15 with Jackson and April coming to terms with everything and April getting better, so to speak, since she's working in 15. With Jackson's patient's husband telling him about his wife losing her sister and how she hasn't been the same, and nothing he does seems to help. And then Jackson convincing the patient to wait before having surgery. 15 could be a turning point for them in the right direction to healing from such a terrible loss. Just another way it could possibly play out. Hi Michele! I really do feel they are going with type II and the baby will not make it. Which is not the end of the world, and could really turn out to be a wonderful storyline if played right. I was really sold that they were going to give them a special needs child, but if the baby has type II then game over. Also, I am now finally convinced he really is a boy. I think Jackson and April might try to get pregnant by the end of the season, and end up having a baby girl next season. |
