Yeah...as maybe he was in military too and died thus Jay enlisting, wanting some sort of revenge and thus him being so focused on bringing justice to Lonnie's case.
I see Jay having like almost perfect upbringing with model family that got really broken at some point... __________________

That could be really great to see Jay deal with that. Especially if the perfect family got torn apart and forced him to kind of leave them.

I know the Lonnie case is sort of personal for him due to the boy being his ex brother but I would love for Jay to have even deeper personal drive towards this case...

It was high school and they broke up so chances are it was not meant to be but I guess it wasn't just a loose HS thing taking her parents came to his police academy graduation. No mention of her being there though.
I do think they may bring her back to try to rekindle their relationship. You know, them being older and slightly different people now... __________________

I think they will let them try to see if maybe they will be able to make it this time....unfortunately they won't but it will be great opportunity for some great Linstead moments...

I can even see Erin maybe talking Jay out of that relationship..saying how that girl is wrong for him and that she only warns him to protect him...god forbid giving HER own feelings towards him as a reason...

Can we blame her though? I mean this ex could might as well be this overbearing type that when her and Jay reconnect, may have issues with Erin being his female partner and spending so much time together...and Erin takes s h i t from no one...
