TV Guide bought JumpTheShark.com in 2006, reportedly for more than a million bucks. But the site's creator, Jon Hein, is still the authority who observes when shows go over the deep end. (If you don't know the reference: "Happy Days" got bad -- "jumped the shark" -- when Fonzie jumped a shark with a motorcycle.)

Here's Hein's list of the year's top 10 shark jumps:

1. "Lost" on ABC
What a difference a year makes. The show started focusing on everything but the original survivors, and you could feel it slipping away. The tailies? Kate and Sawyer? The Others' commune? Let's get back to the cast from Season 1. Please.

2. "The O.C." on Fox
They never should have gone back to Orange County. Putting Marissa in the grave sent this show over the fin.
