I really respect Bryan Fuller for refusing to write rape into his show. And he's changed Margot Verger from a 6-year-old molestation victim turned lesbian (because he accurately notes that there is no correlation between women who have been molested and lesbians) into an adult who is a victim of her brother's more general sadism and tried to take some of her own agency by attempting to kill him. Hannibal is brutally violent, but at the same time manages NOT to have consistent undertones of misogyny. I respect that. And I like that he writes more diversity into the Lector universe- having Jack Crawford played by Lawrence Fishburne, turning Alan Bloom into Alana Bloom, etc.

Seriously your whole posts is exactly why I never cringe when I watch Hannibal. It also reminds me of the Sleepy Hollow writers saying they hired a diversed cast because they get to kill white people instead of hiring a POC and then killing them. Lmao

Rebecca sucks as Zelena. Paige from Charmed ****ed her face up. Snow White and Regina are getting in a good place that I'm shockingly ok with. Hook and Emma, I dare you two to be adorable. I just dare you. Charming continue to be to cute for your own good.

I just wish they'd actually ADDRESSED some of Regina's sins- Belle was a start, but again, how about what she did to Graham? Why is Emma not more unsettled that she basically murdered him right in front of her?

And I still hate that the show tries to pass Snow and Regina off as remotely in the same league. I don't actually think Snow did anything wrong with Cora- I think she was shoved into that corner after 30 years of terror and abuse. And I don't think she did anything to deserve Regina's wrath in the first place.

Charming IS adorable, though. And I'm on his side re: Leopold, lol.

I think the writers are doing a decent job at redeeming Regina but yeah she does need to grovel more when it comes to her actions. At least she's not being woobified like other shows does with their antagonist turned heroes. (Talking to you TVD, Heroes, BTVS with Spike.) And yes when I mean woobified I mean the men can do no wrong because they are played by hot guys.

I totally keep rewinding the part where David almost drinks the poison and Emma makes Killians hook disappear. lol
