Lilly Amanda Seyfreid ROCKS, man. I never even would have thought it possible, to create such a fan favorite out of a character who was dead when the show started and who was revealed to have done some truly awful things.

Yeah, they really struck gold with that casting. Amanda is incredibly talented and I see a bright future for her.

Many in the VM cast were good at that. Their characters made questionable decisions, but I stuck with them and even loved them for it.

LMAO. Everyone but Duncan. I think some of the problem was casting- Teddy had some good moments, like in An Echolls Family Christmas, but he was undoubtedly the weak link of the main cast- but part of it was also everyone going on about what a decent guy he was when some his characterization was almost more sinister than a lot of the rest of them.

But yeah, I think VM is good at rising about character stereotypes and creating characters that you can relate to even when they do terrible things. When they revealed WHY Logan was lashing out at Veronica, it made sense. And it wasn't an excuse so much as a reason why a kid who does have a good heart but is SO messed up would lash out like that out of pain. He couldn't lash out at Lilly, he already hated himself, so Veronica was the one left.

I can't even follow that with a substantial comment. Expert analysis.

LOL! VM makes it easy, especially when it comes to Logan.

I find VM much more fun to analyze than some other shows- the characters actually had depth, and there were little hidden moments here and there that would pay off later- like it was actually established very early on that Logan was attracted to Veronica, or had been at some point. And it was also hinted that Logan and Veronica had actually been close friends and that Logan was more angry at her for some reason than just disliking her, which we ultimately found out was true.

It was an incredibly nuanced show, especially in season one. It had been carefully planned out, for sure.

I use to analysis GA in S1-2 ,but now not so much since it does not make sense.
Back to VM I actually loved how they established VL as a couple and it was not forced or anything like they flash backs seem to pretty natural like when they flashed back to to the past at least where everything was perfect in Veronica world.

I LOVED the little glimpses into pre-series LoVe- it's why I bought the couple when I don't usually like love/hate. Logan and Veronica didn't dislike each other for the sake of disliking each other. They had once been close friends. Lilly's death had devastated both of them, and they both responded to some extent by getting hard and mean.

I usually HATE love-hate relationships. But you're right, based on history/chemistry factors, they are totally the exception.

It's because they weren't really, not after the first few episodes. They weren't like that when they were together, they usually seemed to genuinely enjoy each other's company. And they were also two naturally abrasive people, lol. They were each the only ones that could keep up with each other. I think it was showcased with poor Leo and Hannah what happened when those two got together with sweet wallflower people.

Liz, I remember you telling me I would really like Veronica/Logan even though I never watched VM, so I youtubed a few of their major scenes a while ago [the first kiss, the dancing to Sway and the one where he talks to her at the dance about love not being easy or something like that...] and I definitely think if I had watched, I would have loved them. But didn't the show screw them over/end terribly? That seriously sucks.
