My state is trying to outlaw no-knock warrants (like they kind they had for Breonna Taylor the night they killed her). I hope we're successful.

That they were able to get one for her - a woman with absolutely no history of violence or any compelling indication she was involved in selling drugs - shows how corrupt the whole practice is.

Like, even the warrant at all was a BIT of a stretch, but a no-knock warrant was pure insanity. And it's clear the boyfriend never heard them announce themselves (only one neighbor claims to have heard them say "Police" once - not repeatedly as they claimed and other neighbors didn't hear it at all, meaning it's unlikely they did either) going by his 911 call. I watched the NYT Presents episode of her case; awful

I feel like they're going to say they technically didn't break state laws, given the warrant In which case it's time to scrap ALL YOUR STATE LAWS and just start over from scratch.

It seems like they're about to announce they won't be pressing charges :/ They've already declared a pre state of emergency, which doesn't bode well.

Yep, no murder or manslaughter charges One cop got charged with shooting into other peoples' apartments, ridiculously enough. Sigh.

And this case is really an indictment of the whole criminal justice system, because it's not just the cops who shot her who are responsible. It's the judge who signed off on the warrant based on extremely tenuous information. It's whoever sent those police officers to her apartment at the last minute with virtually no awareness of who she was (AKA that she was NOT a drug dealer, nor did the drug dealer they were looking for live there, and indeed he'd already been arrested). Her younger sister lived in that apartment, and it's sheer luck she wasn't there that night.
