This show had a lot of weaknesses that should be looked at. You can be in awe of every second if you're podcasting The Sopranos or The Wire, lol.

Even those shows have their weaknesses as well

They do, and every show is limited by the time it was written in. Some of the Sopranos would NOT work today.

I really don't know if the homophobia would fly today, even if it was probably realistic. I don't think Tony was ever...glorified for his racism or homophobia, and that's not nothing. But still. Would it work today? Probably not. And I don't know about Christopher's ongoing physical abuse of Adrianna, but I'd argue to keep it because it was very ugly and very honest.

Think the physical abuse stuff would be worse.
But yet again, we definitely weren't meant to be thinking they were good people so I can think you can get more leeway that way. |

Yes, that's part of what worked about the show - Tony wasn't supposed to be a good guy. His racism wasn't supposed to be right. I think the show at least tried to highlight that what happened to Vito was ridiculous.

Yeah, can't really think of too many characters on the show we were meant to see as good people.

No, not really. Even Dr. Melfi was clearly manipulative at points AND drawn to the darkest parts of Tony.

There were the most maligned characters on The Sopranos - "some black dudes." LOL.
