I agree, I wish something from MD had gotten nominated because it would have validated all her efforts. But Clive and RCA submitted her only in Rock categories, which in my opinion, was to keep her off the nomination ballot.

That said though, I'm really happy about BOY. I too get a feeling they will win this one. The song was HUGE on country radio.

"West's album, "Graduation," and Winehouse's "Back To Black" earned Album Of The Year nominations, which came as no surprise to me. What did surprise me was not seeing Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" up for contention. I thought for sure it would be there, as well as Kelly Clarkson's "My December," but both albums were severely overlooked. Foo Fighters' "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace," "These Days" by Vince Gill and Herbie Hancock's "River: The Joni Letters" round out the category. Of Springsteen's four nominations, he did manage to get one for Best Rock Album. Clarkson didn't fair as well. She got only one nomination and it wasn't even for "My December." Clarkson and Reba McEntire earned a nomination for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for their duet of Clarkson's hit "Because Of You." Clarkson's debacle with Clive Davis may be to blame, but with little or no promotion behind "My December," it didn't meet expectations. I still love the CD and would hope music lovers would give the disc a second listen, Grammy or not."

Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, 50 Cent and Jon Bon Jovi are considering boycotting this year's Grammy Awards ceremony in support of the Hollywood writer's strikes. The annual ceremony is under threat of cancellation after celebrities from the music industry pledged their allegiance to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) union members. Prince, Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Nelly Furtado, Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson, The White Stripes, Fergie and Usher are also threatening to boycott the event, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on February 10, 2008, reports the New York Daily News. A source tells the publication, "The writers are especially interested in artists who might perform on the show. If they pull out, the show comes apart." But a spokesman for the WGA says, "As of now, the Guild has not taken a position on the Grammys."

Hmm, it could be. I know I've heard before that people were planning to boycott the Grammy's. I hate the strike.

But either way, whether Kelly's there or not, I think the song has a GREAT chance to take the Grammy.

I believe it's been announced that the writers will not be picketing at the Grammys so everyone is in the clear. I don't think any of these artists will end up boycutting it anymore.
